Designed and implemented a prototype viewer application for WML data sources, using C#. This would be similar to Google Maps, but as a standalone application. The project was a proof-of-concept that met the desired objectives, however it wasn't developed further.

Designed and implemented a viewing and analysis application for map data on Windows 3.1. The ministry primarily used Intergraph design files for digital maps at this time, and there were no applications available for simply viewing these maps on an average Windows workstation. Later on, simple querying and annotating facilities were added once the application started to get wide use in (and out of) the ministry. It was developed in Visual Basic (then new) and C (for the speed critical parts). In 1994, at a VB developer conference in Redmond, the application (Mapview) was demoed before the attendees and lauded by then-VP Steve Balmer. I understand the application still has users within the ministry.
